Forever Fall
Off in the distance I could see one colorful aspen surrounded by massive piles of dried up lava from very ancient flows. Parking the car I started to navigate in my head the best route toward the tree, these lave fields are unforgiving, the rocks are sharp and the fields are often filled with lava sink holes that can at times be a hundred or so feet deep. Working my way through the field I decided a straight shot might be the best approach, boy was I wrong. Two hours of scrambling and tearing my pants in several spots I was finally close enough to the tree to capture the image I had seen from the distance.
Mammoth Creek, Utah.
